Not really, but my results are in! In only six weeks time I have officially lost 9.7 pounds, 11.5 inches and improved my benchmark WOD times by 5:53. Now if that doesn’t tell you that paleo is the jam I really don’t know how else to get it through your thick skull.
As far as the benchmarks are concerned I wish I had taken more time off but there’s nothing I can do about that. I took 1:07 off my Helen, :08 off my 100 burpees & 4:38 off my Fran. OF COURSE the burpees had to ruin everything!!! Ugh, hate them. I wish they would just disappear from existence! PS J.Law may or may not have told me that 100 burpees is really bad for your body and it’s not a workout she would recommend doing. FINE, I’ll never do it again. (It really did kill my body, btw.)
Anyway, I’m really glad this challenge is over but also so excited to continue this little paleo journey that I’m on!! It’s easy, it’s delicious & it works. I’m not sure what else I could possibly ask for in a way of eating!!
I’m definitely NOT going back to allowing myself one cheat meal a week. (That’s what I did before the challenge started.) This morning a few of us went out for brunch to celebrate the end of the challenge and I was almost immediately sick. I didn’t even eat anything super bad for me either!! I had bacon & eggs on a croissant, breakfast potatoes & a few bites of french toast. Totally not paleo but also not a giant stack of pancakes. Brunch was obviously super delish but also not worth it. Nope, not worth it.
We hadn’t even left the table when the acid reflux set in. Dude, I haven’t had acid reflux in MONTHS! Back when I was eating whatever I wanted I got it all day everyday but when I switched to paleo it magically disappeared. And that little effer came back IMMEDIATELY today. No thank you!!! Not to mention the rock that I still have hanging out in my stomach. So gross. My body hates carbs now and that’s really okay with me. Humans aren’t supposed to eat processed carbs anyway… Yeah, I said it.
So, needless to say, I won’t be doing that again and I’m SUPER stoked about it!!! I just feel good when I eat paleo. Who doesn’t like to feel good?? And besides that the changes I have seen in the 3 1/2 months I’ve been eating paleo are unreal.
Pretty cool, huh?? I think so. No, I’m not showing you my stomach. My stomach is where all my excess weight likes to hang out. Obviously, I’m okay with sharing my entire life with the world but I’m reallyyyyyy self conscious of my gut. I’m hoping to have that in check by the time summer rolls around! That’s the goal anyway. The completely attainable goal.
There are so many completely awesome CrossFit related things that I need to blog about but I think this entry needs to stay short, sweet & about paleo. In a nutshell: I’m glad I did the challenge. I don’t think I will win. I’m happy with my results. I still have a gut. I will wear a bikini by summer. My body hates carbs. I love paleo. I love CrossFit. ANDDDDDDDD my 1 rep max deadlift is now #255, my front squat is #165 & I can do double-unders. BOOM! The end.
